Priority Football sessions are tailored around the technical aspects of football, with each player having a ball at their feet for large periods of the session.
In our 5-11s programme, we recognise the importance of players growing at their own rate and our focus of development is of ‘the player’, rather than ‘the team’. Priority Football does not arrange competitive fixtures and instead focuses on giving players a set of skills and techniques that they can take to their respective clubs.
The team game element of sessions involves small numbered sides up to a maximum of 5-a-side. 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 are common in sessions, allowing players more touches of the ball than they would in larger games.
We embrace a ‘Play not Push’ attitude in both programmes, which means coaching football in a fun, pressure free environment where players know they are free to express themselves. We believe in always allowing players to make their own decisions when playing football and that this responsibility always leads to the greatest learning and development.
